On 6th June, 233 Squadron flew Douglas C-47 'Daks' Dakotas on 21 sorties to drop supplies to elements of the British 6th Airborne Division. During the operations on D-Day, 4 of the Squadron’s aircraft were lost to anti-aircraft fire.
