Description

Commissioned Piece to celebrate 33 Squadrons Centenary. No. 33 Squadron was formed at Filton on 12 January 1916 and equipped with Royal Aircraft Factory BE.2s. In 1944 the Squadron flew the Spitfire IX as part of 2 TAF. 33 Squadron was equipped with Gloster Javelins in April 1958. Completing the piece, the Squadron became the RAF’s first Puma squadron in 1971.
